Abyss & Apex : First Quarter 2010: My Wife

My Wife

by Albert Melear

My wife rarely says anything at all
Because the fact remains that she is dead.
I never have to take her to the mall
Or bother to acknowledge what she said.

She seldom makes me food but I don’t care
As such I do not have to pay her way.
It’s pretty cheap for her to fix her hair
Because a bit more falls out every day.

Our grass has not been cut in like a year—
But no worries, my woman’s not a grouch,
Though conversely to open up a beer
I have to get myself up off the couch.

And even though her smell is rather vile
She still has such a sexy little smile!
