Birds of a Feather

“Birds of a Feather”

This has been a hard year for those who are a part of the science fiction and fantasy community. We haven’t been able to get together with our “tribe” – lockdowns and a lack of opportunities to congregate have kept us home and alone.  Conventions kept happening – but online. We could not see each other except in digital form.

Still, we adapted. There are online communities like Concellation: The SF&F con that’s always canceled https://www.facebook.com/groups/concellation (which even has its own dealer’s room) and Science Fiction for All (https://www.facebook.com/groups/285880142385036). The various fandoms all have their online expressions. Podcasts have become more prevalent, and we’ve all at least heard of Zoom.

But it’s just not the same as being together.

Throughout it all, Abyss & Apex has been there for you. We’ve provided free fiction and a place for our fans https://www.facebook.com/groups/1619291591660324 . We still have a Twitter handle (@abyss_apex) and are doing all we can to promote new and exciting authors in the SF&F field.

We’ll all be back together soon and look forward to seeing you at some face-to-face conventions. We birds of a feather need to flock together.
